Nightmare Ch. 3While I stood there helplessly watching Joseph's brother die, I hadn't realized it, but I had started to cry. I cried out of both fear and sadness. I stood there and stared at Joseph then at Max hoping that this was all just a good dream gone bad. I knew it wasn't, though. Max had been my best friend whenever we were still in diapers. I would go to him when I needed someone to talk to especially that time in the eighth grade. We started to separate after because I left, but it still hurt that he was gone.
I stood there, and I would've stared there the rest of the night, but a nurse came and got me. She took me back to my room and told me to get in the bed and get some rest. I didn't want to, but I nodded anyway and lay down while she put the needle back in my arm. I didn't even flinch when she put it in my arm.
When she left, I sat up on my bed, ignoring my ribs and started to think about everything that had happened today. I had the dream, woke up, went for a walk with Joseph, and the
Nightmare Ch. 2I jolted up in the bed receiving a sharp pain from my ribs. I was sweating and breathing hard. I looked up t the clock and realized I'd been asleep for over an hour. I also could've sworn I heard something fall to the ground.
The pain slowly, not completely, subsided in my ribs as I began to comprehend that to the right of me the light wasn't there. Instead, something or someone shadowed it. I looked up towards the blocked light and jumped causing my ribs to be pained again. If this keeps happening, I'm sure my ribs will never heal, I thought. I'd have to be more careful from now on.
I smiled up at the tall, concerned, and tense figure. "I'm OK," I assured only wincing slightly because of my side. The figure relaxed, but the concern was still there. "I just had a bad dream is all."
"OK, I'll take that for now," Joseph winked at me and smiled back. His breath filled the air in between the small distance of our faces. His breath smelled like mints.
I frowned. "How long have you been wait
Nightmare Ch. 1I had a pretty normal life up until a few days ago, which I can't exactly remember too well. The last thing that I remember was that I was in my car heading towards the movies with my friends, and then everything blanked out.
I had woken up about two minutes ago, but I'd been looking at the ceiling so when I finally looked around I was surprised. I expected the ordinary boring hospital room, but it was actually pretty cool. It had ocean blue walls, tiles with the seashell design, and on one side of the room, there was a window seat for visitors. The cushions on it were white, and it looked very comfortable, although it was small. Also, on the door was a sign that spelled out my name, Samantha Waylin.
Next to the bed, that I was in was a small end table. On top sat a vase with sunflowers in it, which were my favorite, and a rectangular, wrapped box next to it. I wondered whom it was from. Not my mom or her favorite "little girl," I know that for sure. Neither of them really cared what h
Overcoming the Darkness Ch.2Adric rinsed the rest of the shampoo out of his hair and turned off the water. He hurriedly dressed and shook his head like a dog as little droplets of water formed on the walls and mirrors around him. He started towards the bathroom door when something glowing caught his eye. He spun around with intense speed and when he did, one of his feet caught a towel and he was suddenly on his back. He bumped his head against the tile and watched the blackness absorb his vision.

Time stopped. Caine stood more than 1,000 feet in midair over a valley. His '78 Camaro hovered near him, the back tire barely touching the edge of the cliff. Then, there stood Creed on the main road up to Caine's house. And from what Caine could see, Creed was holding a limp figure in his arms.
He strode over to Creed, cautiously eyeing the figure in his grasp. Lawrence's face looked as if he'd taken a bath in dust, and his long blonde hair was pulled back into a messy ponytail. "Your back," Caine quickly noted. He
a dangerous hallucinationThe light coming through the window was bright,
much too bright.
Even though my eyes were closed
I could see it-
The skin of my arms prickled,
sweat dripped from my brow.
It was two in the afternoon but…
the sun was setting
through the window facing east.
I should have seen the hutch,
shelves lined with bone china
decorated with delicate leaves and vines.
I was so thirsty
and reaching for cups that should have been there.
Instead I found a billboard of butterflies,
the colors raging
more than any rainbow
I'd ever seen.
Their wings fluttered and flashed
yet somehow they moved in slow motion.
I wanted to stand,
wanted to reach out and touch them but…
I couldn't move,
and yet I laughed
ignoring my dry mouth
and the tingling in my feet.
There was a tempest
on the rise
and in my blood.
A sugar rush disguised
as a riot of butterflies
and they were swarming me.
There was a small vial
of insulin in my pocket
that I nev
